Dr. Noah Rosenberg - Featured in Science News
A study of Native American origins led by Noah Rosenberg, Ph.D., of the departments of Bioinformatics and Human Genetics, got national media attention. An international team used genetic data from more than two dozen living tribes and found new, compelling evidence that native peoples today in Central and South America trace their ancestry to people from Siberia who crossed a Bering Strait land bridge 12,000 years ago and spread south, likely taking a coastal route. Stories have appeared in Science News, the Ann Arbor News and on the Discovery Channel and Fox News web sites. Rosenberg also holds an appointment in the Life Sciences Institute.
