Current Concepts and Case Studies in Heath Informatics

This course provides students a formal framework in which to discuss contemporary topics in health informatics.  Topics include: architectures, interoperability, usability, public policy, outreach and patient-centric care and technology-enhanced computation.  

Course requirements include: (1) Pre-reading of selected papers in support of each focused session; (2) One five-page term paper proposing a final project based on a salient contemporary healthcare informatics problem or issue; (3) Group-based project which seeks to address the problem raised in (2) above, using informatics concepts presented during the course.
