At the June 5, 2009 Department of Internal Medicine Annual Dinner, Dr. Omenn received the Chairman's Award for Outstanding Service to the Department. Dr. Omenn's Internal Medicine appointment is in the Division of Molecular Medicine and Genetics, and began when he came to the University in 1997 as the Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs.
