Abstract:
The intersection of computer science and healthcare research is
leading to the emergence of new applications, new capabilities and a new way of thinking about healthcare. Developments such as genomics and automated high-throughput molecular analyses, combined with ubiquitous sensing technologies, robotics and computer interfaces that merge real and virtual worlds promise to integrate healthcare with our everyday lives and extend coverage to under-served communities worldwide. Microsoft Research builds collaborations with academia to explore the role of computing in the future of healthcare, and this presentation will show some of the results of these partnerships.
